As a golf course superintendent, golf is an important part of my life and I have traveled around the world
playing golf and looking at course’s to find ways to improve turf management.  I have played golf on 5
continents and have toured several outstanding golf clubs in my travels.  I’m a graduate from Ferris State
University in horticulture in Big Rapids Michigan.  I have dedicated my time to having sound turf management
practices, caring for the environment, research work on plant pathogens with universities and Syngenta
professional products.  I have been a superintendent for over 10 years and I’m currently the superintendent of
The Plateau Club in Sammamish Washington just outside of Seattle.  I also have served as the superintendent
at Mountain Spring in California and in Vail Colorado at the Vail Golf Club.  In my time as a superintendent I
have prepared the course for two United States Presidents, several celebrities, professional athletes, PGA tour
players and have hosted the President Jerry Ford Invitational.   I’m currently serving on several boards; The
Board of Directors of Western Washington Superintendents Association, The Board of Directors of Northwest
Turfgrass Association, Committee Member of GCSAA Membership Standards Advisory Group, Representative
at the Chapter Delegate annual meeting at GCSAA Headquarters and the Advisory Board of Mountain West
Turf Magazine, I also write for the magazine.
